Software as a Service (SaaS) is a model of software deployment in which an independent software vendor (ISV) licenses an application to customers for use as a service on demand. Software is usually hosted on a central server and accessed over the Internet from a browser or thin client at the customer's location. SaaS therefore provides a "one-to-many" deployment model, in which a single instance of the software may support many separate customers.
